Hi,
I am desperately trying to find WILLIAM & MARY BUMBY.
They lived next door to my gggrandparents in Green Row in Meanwood.Some of my gggrandparents children are listed living with the Bumby's as grandchildren.On the 1851 census William is 66 years old & Mary 60,there is a WILLIAM RHODES living with them as son age 17 years old.I know my gggrandmother was SARAH RHODES & then married JOHN HARTLEY,unfortunately she has not put her fathers name down on the marriage certificate, but WILLIAM BUMBY is a witness!!Either illegitamate or her mother has remarried.
On the census William is listed on the 1851 census as a GREENWICH PENSIONER LABOURER.He was born in Woodhouse[Leeds area] Mary was born in Moortown[Leeds area]
I cannot find any other info on William & Mary apart from when & where buried,in their grave is 1 of John & Sarah Hartley's daughters,buried 01/01/1865.William age 74 was buried sept 14th 1859 & Mary was buried feb 15th 1874 age 85years.
I would really appreciate any help with any info on these people.
