I was reading yesterday about how expensive a sword would have been in Anglo-Saxon England, and that because of this, they were handed down from generation to generation in noble families. This got me to thinking. There must still be families who are direct descendants of Saxon nobility, and I wondered if any of the swords of their ancestors had survived. Does anyone know?
