Two helps actually please. I'm struggling!

(1) I'm trying to find out if William and Ellen Lancaster (nee Waite) had any more children.

The info so far:

William Lancaster bc1848, Dishforth, 1871 census in Ripon, married Q1-1869

Ellen Lancaster (nee Waite) bc1848, Copt Hewick, 1871 census in Ripon, d1873

I've found one daughter so far: -

Minnie Lancaster, bc1871, Ripon, 1871 census in Ripon.

I'm trying to find out if William and Ellen had any sons. No luck so far though.

(2) I'm trying to find out if William Lancaster had any brothers. Again, no luck so far.

Any help would be most appreciated.

If you don't have that marriage certificate, I suggest that t would be a useful purchase. It may record that his father was called Thomas and an ag.lab, which would tie in with an 1861 census RG9/3200 f7 p8 at Dishforth in which 37 yr of, Thomas is living with his wife Jane and four children - George 11, Ann 6, Thomas 4, Jane 1.

Hi Geoffers & Jeremy

Thank you very much for the info. At this stage I was hoping to avoid buying certs if I could as I've spent a lot recently. This is something that is on more of a distant branch of my tree so not an absolute priority but the story behind it has me intrigued and there are things I want to know.

I guess I will continue researching a little longer or at least until I get so frustrated that I do end up buying certs. I'm nearly at that stage but not quite there yet,
