This is my first time on the Forum and after inadvertently posting to the main site I am re-posting to the Buckinghamshire forum.
I have been trying to find family connections to my g-g-grandfather John Abel Avery and I am hoping someone is able to give me a lead. I have been working on the problem for over 15 years and have not being able to find any family in England. A family member has provided a baptism record which we believe is his for 1802 (born 1800) at High Wycombe, Bucks., to a mother Francis Unknown and father William. I have also found a reference to a William and Francis wedding in the Philimore Parish Registers in Hillingdon. He was transported to Australia in 1822 and received his Certificate of Freedom in 1829 which stated him as being a chimney sweep. I have considerable amount of data from the Australian records, however the English records are much harder for me. On John Abel's death certificate it states he was an orphan and no parents are named. Any assistance will be received with much gratitude.
