hi, does anyone have any info on a girls preventative home for girls that was in toxteth park at the end of the 19th century?

i am also researching the surname Wedlock, who lived in Liverpool from about 1871 till 1917. I think my great grandfather was a gardener in princess park, toxteth,

With respect to your great grandfather, what was his name and what information do you already have? Census records, for example?

thanks Trish, I was not aware of that info.
my gt. grandfathers name was William George Wedlock b.1884. his father Walter b.1851. Walters wife, Mary died in 1886. in the 1891 census walters 4 daughters have been sent to various places, 2 to aunts, 1 is a servant and the other, Elizabeth is in the preventative home. As for William George and Walter, I cannot find them, but I do know that Walter remarries in 1886 to a much older lady.
I was curious to know why Elizabeth may have been in a home.
I have managed to go as far as a marriage in 1799 in Bristol.
They have travelled a lot, from Bristol, to London, to Liverpool, to Manchester. I have carried it on by not staying too long in one spot.
I am hoping to travel to Liverpool early 2008 to try and dig more stuff up.
thanks again
