Hi there,
Dorset opc has a page for Bridport and Allington. The Bishops Transcripts have been transcribed, there are some gaps, but your Thomas is there, also some siblings, parents marriage and some burials;
16 Aug 1835 Thomas, son of John and Jane Grant, Allington, Flax dresser
06 Aug 1818 Eli, son of John and Jane Grant, Allington, Comber
12 Nov 1820 Eliza, daughter of ditto. (burial 22 May 1829, age 8)
27 Jul 1823 Eli, son ditto
21 May 1826 Mary, daughter ditto
08 Feb 1829 Simeon, son of John and Jane Grant, Allington, Flax Dresser ( burial 15 Sep 1830, age 1)
24 Jul 1831 John, son ditto (burial 22 Jun 1832, age 1)
19 May 1833 John, ditto
John Grant and Jane Watts married Allington 17 Aug 1818
Presumably the first Eli must have died too, but there is a gap in the BT's for burials of several years, until 1827 I think it was.
