Can anyone help with advice on how I may obtain information on the marriage and later divorce, in Nova Scotia, of Jim/James Pearce (originally from Oxfordshire) and a Margaret ? (originally from Glasgow)?
They had a daughter - her name may also be Margaret - who returned to the UK with her mother in 1929.
The couple divorced, probably in the 1930s, I wonder if records would still be held about this 'across the pond' marriage break up and, if so, are they accessible online?

I would suggest you got to this site first and this will probably point you in the right direction.

He's been found|jumphappy
I've got his marriage and now know his wife's name, Kathleen Melrose - not Margaret!.
Thank you, Bob.
Fantastic - now to find his daughter's birth in Nova Scotia and then perhaps I'll be able to find her later on in the UK post 1929.

Janiegirl has traced Kathleen(Catherine) Pearce nee Melrose and found her death certificate, on Scotland's People, and also those of her daughter Margaret Hart nee Pearce and grandson James Alexander Hart who all died in and around Glasgow.
Margaret and James both died in the 1990s, if only we had known about them - we live close by in Renfrewshire. We may find other family members, though as James was 39years old when he died, perhaps he had a family.
I'm still hoping to find information on the date of James and Kathleen's divorce as I have been unable to from available Canadian sources - any further suggestions would be very welcome.
