I am looking for any information about JAMES BRISK. In 1709 he and a widow named JOAN HARRISON had a bastard son, also called JAMES, at ASH in SURREY.
The parish register for the birth of JAMES junior states that the father ran away!
Does anyone know where he ran to?, army, navy, or anywhere else?, or even where he came from in the first place?

There were those Bastardy Bonds and perhaps somebody here has more information on them.

Brisk seems to be a very unusual name.. Cornwall, Northumberland, Devon, Ireland were some of the locales that came up in the IGI. I just wonder if his name really was Brisk or if instead that just didn't more describe his manner of paternity.
