I have my Grandfathers medal from the Great War and wondered if anyone had any interesting sites to recommend.

The medal has his service number and RAMC which I'm taking to be the Royal Army Medical Corps. This concurs with family knowledge where I'm led to believe that he and his brothers served as stretcher barer's. He and his older brother were invalided due to a gas attack and can find his younger brother on the CWGC site died two months before the end of the war.

I'm curious if anywhere has any transcipts to confirm these details.

Cheers:D

Yes, RAMC is the Royal Army Medical Corps. As the brothers were invalided out you could try the National Archives on-line link to WWI pensions and if they are there it will provide some information. http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/
