Following on from a previous post about regimental badges, I'm trying to find the regiments for the remaining men listed on the Warmley memorial in (south) Gloucestershire |help|. I've done lots of searching on the CWGC site, but some entries have little info to indicate where a chap came from, so can't make a direct link to any of these. Anyone got other sites I can search?
I think what the local society is trying to do is a good thing, and I'm happy to help in any way I can, even if that means getting you guys to help too :D

On the North face
HERBERT FREEMAN
ALBERT JAMES HARVEY
VICTOR MORGAN
RALPH KILMASTER

On the East face
WALTER WILLIAMS
CHARLES ERNEST BRUTON
JAMES STONE
ALBERT HAYWARD
GEORGE SAUNDERS
GEORGE HARRIS
GEORGE LACEY

On the West face
SIDNEY GOLDING
WILLIAM MORGAN
CHARLES OLDLAND
FREDERICK DAVIES

1939-1945
RICHARD BAILEY
HARRY WILLIAMS

Ta muchly my happy bunch of 'search-a-holics' ;)

"Soldiers Died in the Great War" is available in many CROs, reference libraries etc and is also online.

I'll start things rolling for you Mike!

Ralph Kilmaster - not a common surname, only one pops up on CWGC
http://www.cwgc.org/search/casualty_details.aspx?casualty=798242

I suspect this is him, maybe he preferred Ralph to Albert?
A search of the birth indexes would hopefully confirm his second name.

Thank you thank you to all my little helpers. |hug|

I've also had a result from the CWGC today, they are sending me scans of the regimental badges for the chaps listed on the memorial to.

Looks like the folks down in Warmley are going to be able to get the tribute to their men as they hoped. I'm just acting as a middle man through transcribing a couple of war memorials, now I seem to be the point of contact for a lady in South Glos who I'm happy to help.
