Although I live in Australia I am a descendant of Dutch settlers in South Africa from the 1690's. My interest in tracing my family history was triggered when I realised my grandmother was a Londoner who married my Grandfather in London at the end of WW1. I never knew my grandmother as she died in the 50's and I was only born in 1964. What made it even more interesting was finding out her sister was an opera singer (Rose Morris) who shared the stage with Laurence Olivier and other great artists.

With the help of Reklaw on this forum (my gran's sister is his grandmother) we have expanded the joint family tree but at this stage the quest is to find out more about Rose Morris as she vanished of the face of the earth in 1945.

Hello to everyone here.
