View Full Version : OPIE Family; Loose Family
Hi I'm very new to this. I'm from Australia and am trying to research some of my husband's ancestors(lots with the same surname, so patience to sift through them all) and also my late mother's parents (proving very difficult -not much info to go on)

When ready, just post to the relevant forum with as much information as you can (but protecting any living persons identity).
There are a few of us here from downunder to give help from our perspective :D

Did your OPIE family come from Cornwall?
The family believes so.My husband, Andrew, is a son of Frank Campbell(1916-1989), son of Edward Campbell (1882-1951), whose parents were Edward Andrew Devonshire (1843-1923) and his second wife Annie Mellor (died 1893). E.A.D. Opie is the son of Edward Andrew Opie (18/9/1810 - 1879) who married Mary Jane Devonshire in 1838, before emigrating to Adelaide in 1839.As I sort thro'my mother-in-law & brother-in-law's research things may become a bit clearer.
