I am stuck and i don't even know where to post this properly, but...
My ex's Nan, who may still be alive, is/was Lilian Bailey born circa 1925 in London. She was last known to live in Hertfordshire, in the Sawbridgeworth or Harlow area. Her son, and late grandad of my children, was Michael John Bailey, who died aged 37 circa 1983 in Cambridgeshire and had been a resident of Royston, Herts.
I am trying to find a place or last place of residence of Lilian Bailey and to discover who she married - obviously he was Mr Bailey but I have no first name nor do I know Lilian's maiden name. All I know is that as well as my late father in law, Michael, who died before I met my uncooperative ex, Lilian had a son called Paul, and daughter, Jean.
Can anyone please tell me how I might find Lilians marriage or maiden name/husbands forename and/or last place of residence please? It would mean so much to me to be able to give my children at least a little information about their Grandfather and Great Nan on their father's side. We are already stymied with their grandmothers side as my mother in law was born as a result of a relationship between her mum and a Canadian wartime soldier who left the UK before he knew that he was to be a father and was never heard of again.
