Whilst looking for the marriage of Archibald LECKIE and Grace (Surname unknown) who were recorded as being 45 and 46 respectively in the 1841 Census in Glasgow I came across these 2 entries on Scotland's people:

17/07/1824 LECKIE ARCHIBALD married ISABELLA LANG
Parish -Old or West Kilpatrick County - DUNBARTON
501/ 0040 0380

18/07/1824 LECKIE ARCHIBALD married ISABELLA LANG/FR6717
Parish - Glasgow County-GLASGOW CITY/LANARK
644/001 0400 0277

Is this normal to have 2 entries in 2 different parishes for what appears to be the same marriage?

Still looking for Archibald and Grace.

Having recently been to a talk about Scottish records (I have no other experience of these things) I believe it is the same marriage, one of the entries relates just to the calling of the banns in one parish, the second to the banns and marriage in the other (presumably the groom's and bride's respectively).

Unless someone knows better.

Most likely it is to do with Banns and two different Parish registers.

But, they may have actually married twice, the dates are a day apart. They may have married in two different religious ceremonies.
