Can any tell me if it's possible to get hold of Army records. My grandfather who died in 1954 was in the regular army until he married in 1926. His marriage certificate states he was a bombadier in the Royal Artillery and it gives his service number. He was born in 1904 and according to my mother signed up under age after a tiff with his father oover a motorcycle. The famly thought he was born in 1902 until I purchased his birth certificate. If I can get his service record can someone tell me how. I have looked at a few websites but they have left me confused.

You could try below:
Officers or Soldiers whose regular or reserve service ended between 1921 and 1997
Army Personnel Centre
HQ Secretariat
Historical Disclosures
Mail Point 400
Kentigern House
65 Brown Street
Glasgow
G2 8EX
Tel: 0845 600 9663, option 1, then option 3
You need to know which Regiment he was in and you need to send in a copy of his Death Certificate too. Also if you are not next of kin you will need a letter of authority from someone who is saying you can obtain the records. The cost is about £30 and there is a six month wait with no promises you will receive anything you are paying for the search I think? I sent off for my Grandads and receive pages of his Army Record it was well worth the wait.
I hope this helps.
Regards
Jill
