I am seeking information on the Kirkup family - to say the least this branch is evasive! Robert Kirkup married Elizabeth Bennett in 1851. In 1861 they were in Newcastle on Tyne - he was a blacksmith. I have managed to find them on the 1881 census listed as Kirput! Elizabeth is then a widow living with her daughter Margaret and her new husband Thomas Angelo Ronchetti -
(chemist, wine and spirit merchant, and fire and life insurance agent by 1890)
Listed also is William Kirput brother in law b 1868 South Stockton.
I would love to hear from anyone with any relationship to - or information on - this family?

Hello Brian
I know that there is a member of the Anglo-Italian FHS interested in the Ronchettis.
Go to http://www.anglo-italianfhs.org.uk/
and look for members interests

Ronchetti, not such a common name and a fairly well documented family of barometer makers. Unfortunately I don't have any of my barometer reference books by me at the moment, but barometer makers tended to get recorded with clockmakers.

Thanks Colin and John, I have contacted the Anglo Italian Soc and will look into barometers. What a great community genealogists are. Best wishes

Hi there
At present I have the Jarrow parish marriages transcriptions on loan from NDFHS and I'm looking to see if I can help anybody out. There are 4 KIRKUP marriages in the 1600s/1700s if you are interested.
