Hi everyone, I’ve just joined the forum. I live in Tonbridge, Kent, England. I hope one day to trace my branch of the Colvilles back to 1066 and confirm my belief that my ancestors originally came to England with William the Conqueror as part of the Norman invasion.
Back to reality. I’m currently stuck trying to find out more about my 5th great-grandfather William Colvill. All I have so far is that he was married to Ann Mason and their son George Colvill was born on 13th February 1801 at Frindsbury (near Rochester), Kent. I've spent a lot of time wading through Parish Records and followed a few false starts down to Sussex, but so far I've drawn a blank.
