Dear Bo Peep;
I have an IGI theory about my Treleaven branch, which is in serious need of confirmation from official documents:
Ann Treleaven b 7 Nov 1749, m George Pound 1772 in Lanlivery (Ah - gggrandmother.)
Ann was the daughter of Walter Treleaven, b 3 March 1721 in Lanlivery m 23 Feb 1747. Actually I have a copy of Ann Treleaven's will, to which Walter was a witness. I found a memorial to Walter in Lanlivery church when I visited a couple of years ago. Walter was apparently "of Breney Farm". Walter was married to Elizabeth Chapman - died in 1755, and that is all I know about her.
So the first two are reasonably secure. From here on out it is pure IGI fantasy:
Walter was the son of another Walter, born 3 March 1691 in Lanlivery Rural and married 23 December 1718. He married Joane Hill, about whom I know nothing.
And THAT Walter was (perhaps) the son of John Trelevian (I hate it when the spelling goes bad) born "About" (hate that, too) 1644 and married Blanche on the 24th of November 1669. Blanche what? Who knows. Nor do I know where John was born. So John may turn out to be impossible.
I have two other questions, one of which may be slightly relevant, and the other one I should post to the Kernow list: Is Breney Farm still owned by Treleavens? It was in the 1851 census.
And what in heaven's name is the significance of the carvings on the quoins just below the top of the tower on Lanlivery church? I do hope somebody somewhere is doing something to preserve them. Not that automobile exhaust is much of a conservation problem in Lanlivery, I shouldn't think.
There is certainly no urgency in this at all. I realize you must be very busy, and I do not mean to be presumptuous.
Regards and thanks,
Charlie Rignall
