Hello all my search keeps ending at a brick wall , breifly looking for birth of Edward Salmon who i beleive was born in Colchester where his father was stationed in the army, cant find birth record even through the G.r.o
his birthday was known to us as 01/07/1904, i beleive he moved to LIVERPOOL ABT 1916,his fathers name is shown on Edwards marriage certificate (1930 )as EDWARD ALBERT SALMON, Electrician deceased.
The marriage took place in Birmingham, and at the time of his marriage he was a corporal at the school of signals stationed at CATTERICK BARRACKS YORKSHIREIN THE KINGS REGIMENT, prior to his marriage he was at LICHFIELD BARRACKS STAFFS, I BELEIVE HE SERVED , ON THE RUSSIAN CONVOYS IN THE MERCHANT NAVY.
after the war he settled in Birmingham with his wife Nora.
i write this in the hope some one may recgnise him.
Regards
Liam

Have you looked through the Army Births? They are in a different index from the usual GRO births index for England & Wales.
