|help| HI

I am trying to find some info on Richard PHILLIPS b 1789 and his wife Wilmot GRENFELL m Oct 1812 in St Ives. His father was a John PHILLIPS also from St Ives.

I have found them in the 1861 census, but can not find any more about them or there family before or after.

Any help please or ideas

Best wishes George ;)

I see that Richard was a mariner. Was his father a mariner too?

Found them in 1851:
Living at Wharf, St Ives
Richard (originally entered as George but crossed through) Head, Mar, 64, Sailor, b Marazion, Cornwall
Wilmot, Wife, Mar, 65, b St Ives Cornwall
Ref: HO 107 1917

Checking 1841 next

1841:
Fore Street, St Ives
Wilmot Phillips, 50, Y (to being born in the county)
Wilmot Phillips, 18, Y
Thomas Phillips, 15, Y
Ref: HO 107 144 5

No Richard in the house but, if he was a sailor, he could have been away at sea.

Death of Wilmot Phillips:
Penzance District, Jan to Mar, 1868, Vol 5c, page 207, aged 85.

The certificate could give you further clues from who registered the death.

You're on your own with Richard...

Good Luck! |wave|

Hi thank you for the look up and kick start on this one.

As far as I know John Phillips was a fisherman in St Ives.

Best wishes George ;)
