Marriage Phippard/Strickland

I am looking for the marriage of Charlotte Strickland and Charles Phippard.
I have found an entry on freebmd for a Charlotte Stickland (No r)

Quarter of Registration: Jul-Aug-Sep
District: Wareham
County: Dorset
Volume: 5a
Page: 528

And an entry for Charles Phippard

Quarter of Registration: Jul-Aug-Sep
District: Ware
County: Hertfordshire
Volume: 3a
Page: 528

Wareham and Ware are not the same place and in different counties but could this be the marriage and just a mistake on one of the entries ( Probably Phippard as they come from Dorset) or maybe I am barking up the wrong tree. I have tied my brain in a knot and would welcome some fresh eyes.

If you click the spectacles icon beside you entry, you get access to the original GRO index page. It shows that the Phippard entry should actually be volume 5a (not 3a as shown in FreeBMD).

The volume and page numbers being identical suggest that they actually relate to the same registration district. You can check this yourself from FreeBMD's RD/volume/page mappings (see the info pages).

Point out the apparent discrepancy when you order the cert and you should be OK.

PS I've cjecked FreeBMD. Volume 5a in 1854 is associated with Dorset and Wiltshire so it's looking good for Wareham.

I've also checked Phippard on an alternative scan and it's definitely volume 5a so we can be pretty sure that Ware should be Wareham.

In other words there is an error in FreeBMD and also an error in the GRO index!
