has an index to the Royal Hostpial Chelsea, discharge documents of pensioners - certificates of service and has the full class/piece number to order the document. The index covers up to about 1858.

It mentions five men born in Horstead

WO97/156/130 James BOWEN, served 2nd Foot Guards, discharged aged 41. Covering dates 1813-1836

WO97/192/55 Henry MAYES, served 2nd Foot Guards, dsicharged aged 36. Covering dates 1804-1819

WO97/670/49 John CLARKE, served 54th Regt of Foot, discharged aged 24. Covering dates 1816-1824

WO97/884/95 James WILLIMOTT, served 77th Regt of Foot, discharged aged 21. Covering dates 1842-1846

WO121/14/449 Henry BRILL alias BRITT, served 54th Regt of Foot, discharged aged 46 after 17 years of service. Document dated 1792
