Hi there,
Emma and Joseph were my Great Grandparents who were born around c1866. My grandmother Elizabeth was born 1895 in Banbury. They worked the canals and had 7 children, Harriet, George, Samuel, Elizabeth, Gwen, Doris and Emily. They eventually settled in Nuneaton and Harriet continued working on the barges until 1930's I believe. Does anyone know of my family from this period of time.
Thanks
Bo Peep

There is a nice plan of the Oxford Canal, including Cropredy, at
http://www.canaljunction.com/canal/oxford.htm
In the 1901 census you can see how he moved up and down the canal from the birthplaces of the children! On census night 1901 he was at Claydon Top Lock (see picture at http://www.jim-shead.com/waterways/The-Oxford-Canal.html). I am sort of assuming you have the 1901 census but if not let me know and I will post the details.
