William Close born c1851 in Ireland. Possibly had two younger brothers called David and James, all of whom came to Scotland sometime prior to 1876 where its then listed he married Margaret in Ayr. He was 25 when he married and his occupation was coal miner (same with his brothers) So presume he was a coal miner in Ireland if thats any help?
William and Margaret then stayed in Scotland and went on to have 8 children, one of whom was my grandfather Samuel. I need William's dob/certificate to trace back further but not sure where to start so;
My questions are,
Being fairly new to all this, how easy is it to trace Irish Family Records, especially as I don't know which part.
Did the Irish have Census's?
At some point I will have to search Parish Registers??? like in England and Wales?
Any general info greatly appreciated, or even better.....if you know this family...let me know!
Many thanks
