Hi,
I have family ancestors who worked 'in service' in the 1890s and later, probably in Bedfordshire. Can anyone help with compiling a list of houses in the area that would've employed servants. Obviously just the larger ones rather than families who employed one or two.

This would be an awfully difficult way to go about things. Many, many households had servants and specific records relating to servants do not often survive. Taking the 1890s as a starting point, where do they then appear in the 1891 and 1901 census? Are they in service then? If so, they are likely to appear either in the household where they worked, or in one of the buildings attached to that property.
