The Cambridgeshire Family History Society exists to encourage the study of family history within the old counties of Cambridgeshire and the Isle of Ely. It not only provides a friendly point of contact for people world-wide who are interested in the same surname and families, but also offers a wide range of facilities to support their researches into genealogy and the local area.
The Society was founded in 1976 and now has about 1800 members, mainly in the UK but also in Australia, New Zealand, Canada and the USA as well as several other overseas locations. CFHS is a Registered Charity and a member of the Federation of Family History Societies.
Thanks to an active partnership with Cambridgeshire Archive Service and the co-operation of local churches the society is able to offer an unparalleled range of high-quality transcripts of parish registers, census schedules and other records. Come and see us and what we can offer here (http://www.parishchest.com/en-gb/dept_2149.html).
