There are a few Landeryou entries on the censuses for Cornwall - they seem to be in the Truro to Helston area of Cornwall.
Do you have any specific Landeryou enquiries? I am sure we could discover something :)

They were certainly in Truro in 1841, living on George Street. I assume this is the family -

Joseph Landeryou,30, Sawyer,In county,
Elizabeth Landeryou,30, In county,
Joseph Landeryou,10, In county,
John Landeryou,9, In county,
William Landeryou,7, In county,
Henry Landeryou,6, In county,
Elizabeth Landeryou,4, In county,
Peter Landeryou,2, In county,

HO107/147 Civil Parish of Kenwyn ED5 Book 15 Folio 4 Page 1
(from the 1841 census transcription)

As you probably know, the 1841 census is a little light on details, but the above does state they were all born in Cornwall, so it should be fairly easy to trace the childrens births.

George Street still exists - I travel it several times a week.

Chacewater and Kenwyn baptisms have been transcribed by Carol Hughes

Chacewater
19-Jun 1831 Joseph LANDERYOU Joseph Elizabeth Kea Carpenter Bapt. by John Hall
18-Jun 1832 John LANDERYOU Joseph Elizabeth Kea Carpenter Bapt. by C M Gibson

Kenwyn
08-Jun 1834 William LANDERYOU Joseph Elizabeth Kenwyn Papermaker
22-May 1836 Henry LANDERYOU Joseph Elizabeth Kenwyn Carpenter
25-Dec 1836 Elizabeth Jane LANDERYOU Joseph Elizabeth Lemon Row Carpenter

At the same time ta John & Elizabeth are having children baptized, John is also a Sawyer/Carpenter. Possibly a brother to Joseph.

Thanx for that, I have come across that, but what puzzles me is the dates being so close together of Henry and Elizabeth...But having looked at Marks info again , i see Henry is 6 and Elizabeth is 4..in 1841...So maybes Henry was a few yrs old when he was baptised...So 2 mysterys solved...

I'm new to the website and saw that you're looking for Fords in Surrey.

My ancestors came to the US from England in 1837. According to a county history, the oldest son, William Ford, was born in Richmond on 01 01 1821. His parents were William Ford (b1801, England, d 1854 Ohio) and Harriet ? (b 1795, England, d 1843 Ohio).

There were three siblings to William:

Henry Thomas Ford, b 1823 England, d 1878 Kansas, my ancestor
James Ford, b 13 03 1826 England, d 1864 Illinois
Harriet Ford, b 1830 England, d 1869 Illinois

They were furriers/hatmakers. I don't know anything more about their time in England. Let me know if you see any links. Thanks
