Hi, I am also "doing" Balls who came from Lancashire to Staffordshire - I know that there were already some there, which " lot " are you doing?

I have come across a William Woolley born abt 1845 who married Ann Cartmail in 1876 in Uttoxeter Derbyshire and thewy had at least 2 children Louisa Woolley born 1876 in Abbotts Bromley and Ann E. Woolley born 1880 Abbotts Bromley.. In the 1891 census they were living with Ann's father, Thomas Cartmail, in Rugeley Road Abbotts Bromley. Ann E. Woolley married Sydney Green in 1900 in Wolanstaon Staffordshire and they had 2 children Samuel C. Green born 1912 Leek Staffordshire and Thomas Green born 1917 Leek Staffordshire.
I hope the above is helpful.

Hi Davran,
I may have asked this of you before, but my computer has updated, but my memory has not! So apologies in advance if required.|doh|
I am interested in a Hannah Ball, born C1817 at Norton in the Moors. She married James Hargreaves on 27th June 1836 at Biddulph. they had 10 children and I have most details for them and the rest of the Hargreaves and Buckleyfamilies, but Hannah is a bit of a mystery, although I have her in the 1841/51, I think she died before the 1861 census.
Does she belong to you?

For Julia and Sandra
Julia, apologies for not replying to your original post - I must have missed it somehow!
Anyhow, my earliest BALL is Daniel b1723 Wolstanton married Catharine PERRY. Various sprogs, including James b1767 Wolstanton. He married Edna PARTINGTON. Sprogs including James b1802 Newcastle u Lyme. James married Kezia LEDWARD (I think it was a second marriage) and had two daughters Mary and Fanny Kezia (my ggrandmother).
Sandra, no Hannahs that I know of. :(

Hi Bob
I don't think ours are connected.
John WOOLLEY married Ann
Sprogs - James c1821, Job 1823 Bilston
Job married Ann MEEK in Dudley
Various children, including Maria Elizabeth (or Elizabeth Maria as she was known) bc1859 Bilston
Elizabeth is my |banghead| as I can find no birth for her and don't know whether she was christened Elizabeth or Maria!
Job died of syphilis in the county lunatic asylum in 1866. In the meantime his wife bigamously married William Rhodes and after Job's death the family moved north to Durham before 1871.
