George Percival Preen of Peterborough

Can anyone help me in my search for information about George Percival Preen? The only information that I have is that on 25th January 1908 at Wilden, Stourport, England Sybil Grace Brinton married George Percival Preen of Peterborough, Canada.

George Percival Preen's birth was registered in Kidderminster in June qtr 1882 and he married Sybil Grace Brinton. I have just answered your query in another thread re Grace - she sailed out to join her husband in 1908. George obviously went out earlier and came back to marry Grace.

He sailed from Liverpool on September 17 1904 on board the Umbria, arriving in New York on 25 September. He was described as a Gentleman, and his passage was paid for by Brintons Ltd. He was travelling to New York.

Whilst scrolling down the passenger list to find George I came across Cecil Charles Brinton on the same ship. He came from Stourport and was travelling to New York.

I have found George Preen on the 1891 census for Kidderminster
George Preen Head Mar 49 carpet manufacturer and worsted spinner b Worcester
Helen wife 46 b Oxfordshire Swalcliffe
Catherine H dau 17 b London Bayswater
George P son 9 b Worcestershire, Kidderminster
plus a live in servant

That should give you something to be going on with!
