One of the great advantages of a forum (as opposed to text messages on mailing lists) is that pictures can be displaying in messages.

Let's say you want help in reading some old handwriting.... easy, include a picture in your message.... like this:

There have been many requests... "how do you do that"?
Actually.... it is very easy! When you know how....

Hi Rod,
I have tried the method you set out by posting a photo of J A Miller on
"photobucket" however when I tried to upload it to the "West Indies Forum"
I can not see the photo.

Can you help?

am I going mad or are the actual instructions missing from this thread?

Or is my puter hiding them from me?

I can't see them either, Ann. Think Rod's fly must have eaten them!

The following may help if you are having problems transferring from Photobucket

If you can see a box with the Image Code (IMG) then highlight the code, right click and choose Copy (which copies it to your computer's 'clipboard'), then go to the forum thread on this site and right click again and choose Paste. You will get a string which begins with and ends with , but when you press Submit the picture should appear instead.

If you don't get the IMG Code appearing beneath your photo on the Photobucket site, click on the Customise Link button and check the box which says IMG Code for Forums
