After spending quite some time looking at my gg grandfather William Jefferies, who married Mary Flood in 1842 and then had a family in Horndean, it looks like the Jefferies, Floods, Barbers, Hobbs, Edneys, Bridles and a couple of other families are all quite heavily tied up together over a period of about 50 years.
Does anyone else have a link back to these families.?
The Jefferies and some of the Floods were in Portsea for quite a while before this so I'm only guessing that work and the promise of non-slum housing meant they upped sticks and moved up the road to Horndean.
