Help needed please

Could anyone help by advising where to look for WW2 records.

I am trying to trace a serviceman Edward Youngs (born approx 1910) who was based at Elveden Suffolk in 1942/1943. He was an army officer we think.

Coming up against a brick wall.

Any help or ideas would be much appreciated.

Thank you.

Service records are only released to the next-of-kin (a direct descendent or someone who can provide a letter of authority from the direct descendent who is next-of-kin). Are you trying to trace this person forwards in time? If so, first place to try is the CWGC website to make sure he survived WW2, then consider searching both the wills index and GRO deaths index. If he was an officer then try the Army List.
