GRO on line ordering-on holiday ?

Is anyone else having problems with getting on to the GRO pordering service ?
We get as far as the first page, but cannot get on to the login page. Time out each time. There is no message on the first page that the service is not available at this time. I know it is the Christmas holidays blah blah- bah humbug, but if they were closing down for a period you would expect that they would say so.

Hi Ed,

I ordered from it ok on Boxing Day and link I can log-in alright now, so I guess it could have been a little glitch or your browser settings have changed.

Thanks for that Tommy- obviously problems this end. Although we have no trouble getting on to BG et al. Only sites we are aware of problems with is GRO and Findmypast. Curiouser and Couriouser says Alice. Will have to keep on trying.

Guess I don't have so far to go to the their server! Maybe one the other antipodean members will give it a go & see how they get on. Not sure where BGF is hosted.

Perhaps there is a problem with the feed.

I see that the page now has an update service announcement - that the guest funtion will be removed on the 8th of Jan for online ordering. Perhaps you tried to get in just when that page was being uploaded.

I havent had any problems from across the ditch (Canada). I ordered two marriage certs on Xmas day - no problems at all.

The guest function removal means that now you MUST register in order to use their shopping cart. OTOH once you have registered, you wont need to type in your name/address and other details every time you order.

Just so you know those certs I ordered on Xmas day (despatch date Jan 3rd)
he he today is Jan 3rd and they were actually posted Dec 30th!!

hows that for great service in the holidays. :)
