Great Grandmother

[John Andrews]

My great grandmother was born 23rd May 1863 in the village of Fletching, East sussex. Her maiden name was Clara Grover she married my great grandfather William James Andrews on the 8th Nov. 1879. William was the Police Constable for the local district. He and Clara lived in the Police House, Fletching Street were they had six children.

I am trying to trace any member of the Grover family or new of them.

I have a great great grandmother:

Rhoda Grover
born ABT 1853 in Fletching, Sussex.

But I cannot find her in any census records as a child anywhere in UK..

She married Edward Giles in 1771 and I have located her in 1771 census as Rhoda Giles.

I would really like to trace her parentage, but no success so far.

Have you come across her at all?

I will bear your Grovers in mind, as I know I have come across your Grovers very recently. I will post what I find.

That has definitely got to be worth a look, as I know Fletching to be very close to Uckfield..

I have been searching quite a bit so far but to no avail, frustrating as there are a lot of Grovers in Fletching.

Hi I have Grover's from Fletching, Sussex. dating back to 1730. the trouble is I don't start until 1832 with Annesley Grover so can't tell if it is the line that will help you let me know
