My Great Great Grandfather

I am trying to trace my great great grandfather Henry Andrews born in Hampshire between 1830 & 1835. He had one child William James Andrews, born 17th Nov. 1855 later to become my great grandfather, there may have been other children of this marriage. William moved to Fletching where he was employed as a Police Constable for the local district. He married my great grandmother Clara Grover on the 8th Nov. 1879.

Seems quite young to be having a child. Do you have Henry's marriage certificate? Have you been able to locate him in the 1851 and 1861 census returns. Can you narrow down where in Hampshire he was born?

So we have a choice of either "Henry Andrews Head 45 b Wilton, Wiltshire" or "Henry Andrews born in Hampshire between 1840 & 1843"

I think Sue's version sounds a bit more credible ;)

Thank you Geoffers the birth dates of my great great grandfather were incorrect, these have now been ammended. He would have been about 25 years old when William was born.

From the birth certificate, what was William's mother's name?
Henry Andrews was recorded on Williams marriage certificate, however there was no mention of his wife.

I am extremley greatful for this information, the names of the children are consistant with those of my family both past and present. The dates also support Williams birth date. I can now investigate this record and hopefully locate further members of my family.
