I should be glad to know if anyone has come across this lady, christened 07/05/1808 daughter of Ralph & Sarah Wing, who according to IGI married John Frampton Tanner at Fordingbridge on 14/11/1825.

It is possible that he is my g-grandfather John Tanner, born c 1800 and who died in Ringwood in 1886. If so she must have died before 21/06/1832 when he married Elizabeth Cox.

If she can be found to have died at a later date I shall have to look further for my Tanner ancestors.

Thanks for any information, FredP.

Fred

The record you have from the IGI is a "patron submission" i.e. has been submitted by a member of the LDS Church, with no source reference.
I wouldn't rely on it as I have come across plenty that have been way off the mark !

The original parish records (on microfiche) for Fordingbridge are located at the Hampshire Record Office.

I see under Fordingbridge Marriages ...

Thank you Paul,
Your last message shows me that John Frampton Tanner was not my great grandfather. I will have to see if I can work backwards from the other John Tanner you mention, and also a few others |I have found in the area. I looked at a microfilm of the Ringwood Parish Records in the local FHC and didn't find it very helpful. There are of course a good many families with this name in the area. I have seen all the Ringwood census records; but of course it is the period before then that I am now intere3sted in.
Thanks again, FredP.
