Greetings, I am interested in contact with anyone researching the names Webb and Cater particularly around Great Eversden. My GG Grandparents were Henry Webb and Ann Cater married at Great Eversden 1855. I have quite a lot of information on Cater but not on Webb. Look forward to any contact with anyone of similar interests.

Following the death of my great great grandmother, my gggrandfather, James RYDER, married a widow Susanna CATER here in Sydney. Both the RYDER and CATER families had come here from Cambridgeshire. Susanna CATER's first husband, Ephraim CATER was the son of William CATER and Frances (nee NEGUS) and was born in Soham in 1823. Don't know if there is any connection.

Hi Robyn, pleased to meet you. Your William Cater and my William Cater do not appear to be connected. My GGG Grandfather was John Cater and he had a brother William b 1813 Great Eversden, Cambridge and William married twice firstly to Jane Mills at Kingston, Cambridge in 1835. Jane died in 1857 and William remarried to Elizabeth Jane Collett at Great Eversden.

There appear to be quite a few Caters in that area so there may be still a connection. Thanks for your reply and if I find anything that might be common to us I will let you know.
