I am trying to find the link between the Harvey family and the Styles family. Owen Harvey married Annie Stiles and were together on the 1881 census in Downley. Annie was shown as 21, born in West Wycombe. However as yet can find no trace of Annie's birth. Can anybody help please.

Unfortunately I am unable to get an image but these are some details of a family I think is your Annie's.

RG10/1407

Reg Wycombe
Sub-Reg West Wycombe

All were born and live in West Wycombe

Charles Styles, 35, Head

I hope this is some help.

Hi

I have looked at the BMD and there is Ann Styles who has a birth registered in March Quarter 1860 in Wycombe, Vol3 a, Page 410

This may be a possibility.

Hi Phil,

Very many thanks for the information, it has given me the very details I was looking for.
It would appear that Annie (Ann) Styles husband Owen Harvey was my great grandfather, but more than that her brother was the great grandfather of my wife's sister's husband. So we eventually go back and share the same gt/gt grandfather.
Thanks again.

Sounds amazing to get a link back to the same gt/gt grandfather, but same relationships need some thinking about! My brother-in-law married my sister-in-law's sister!

Assuming this is the right Ann, I have her tree back to 1687 and am looking for others interested in the Styles/Stiles name. Which of her brothers provides the other family link - William, James, Frederick or George?

The history of the Styles/Stiles families of Buckinghamshire is available in my tree - 'Styles of Stokenchurch' on Ancestry.co.uk

I have traced this family back to about 1760. Latton Essex seems to be their home at that time. They were brickmakers and mainly worked in the Epping Area. Later some moved to Coggeshall in Essex and some to Kent.
I am looking for proof of them living in Latton and any other lines of this family.

Hi Jean

I am gradually compiling trees of all of the branches of this family. Have currently done Bucks, some Worc's/B'ham, London and Kent. Do you want to swap info?
