Hi
My Great-Grandfather (George Howard BUSBY) on his WW1 enlistment papers stated he had served in the Cape Mounted Rifles. I wrote to an Archives in South Africa who stated (after a year) that they had no information. Last time I was in England I did a search at Kew and found nothing relevant. The Australian Archives state they don't hold anything as it was a unit formed in South Africa.
Incidentally he also states he served int eh New Guinea Police and I can't find anything on that either.
The other service in the Moreton Regiment in Australia has been confirmed and he did have a bullet wound scar above his right knee.
