I have a lady named Maria SCARESBROOK c1819 who married Henry POTTER c1817 in 1838 in Shipston on Stour. Henry died in 1854 and Maria remarried - a John HEIGHCOCK or HIGHCOCK. Maria HIGHCOCK died aged 68 in Aston in Jun1887. Despite all my efforts, I cannot find her SCARESBROOK family - her parents or siblings.
Can anyone please help.

Where did she claim to have been born? What was her father's name? Have you tried the parish registers?

Are you looking in Worcestershire.. because all of the places you have named are in Warwickshire.
Also have you tried spelling it without the E ie Scarsbrook, I have lots of references to this spelling in Birmingham

Sorry, you are right. Shipston was in Worcs but went to Warks in 1931. Maria and Henry married there in 1838.

You really do need to obtain Maria's marriage certificate. It is available to purchase online from www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/. According to the GRO Index, Maria married in the December qtr 1838 at Shipston on Stour reg district vol 11, page 527 and Henry POTTER's name has the same reference. That will at least tell you her fathers name and profession which should theoretically make him easier to trace in the census and parish records.
