Hi,

Is anyone using the full version of this GenSmarts software?

I'm just installed the trial version and was wondering if anyone had already been down the route and upgraded from trial to full version. At first glance it looks quite a useful tool. I know I could do everything it does, but it looks like it could be a time saver.

Mike

I had a copy of GenSmarts in with my new upgrade of FTM v16 a few weeks ago. I wasn't too sure about it to start with as I'd never heard of it and found it quite confusing, but having had an initial 'play' with it I have found it very good. However, (yes there always is one) it does take out a lot of the hard work of searching for data online, which for some is a good thing, but for me until I become more trusting of it with more use, I shall still double check the data links it provides.

The tutorial is very good and it's the sort of programme that means you could do away with lots of scraps of paper, post it notes and what to look for next lists!

All in all, if you want a programme that is going to search out all your missing data, linked from your present family history programme data you have already entered, it will help put you in the right direction.

Hi Julie,

Thanks for the reply. I've had anothe rlook, and think you are right about the trust thing, but it might clear my desk of post-its and other scraps.

I'm already running ftm2006, so to by V16 which is ftm 2006 + this other program something I'll need to think about.
