Can any one help me find who the parents of Richard James Dell Carr were please.
On the 1851 census it says he was an adopted son of the Bradby family, born in Slough abt 1847.
I wondered if any of you had the parish records for that time.
Maybe his mother and father never married?
I do have the Carr name in my family tree, and am unable to find an Ellen Carr, in 1851/61 she was born in Oxford.
She did have a sister named Isabella, and this is the name of the mother on the 1851 census for Richard James.
I would be very grateful for any help.
Thank you
Sheila

Thank you for your help Blue Eyes,
The Ellen Carr you found in Oxford 1826 is "mine".
On her marriage cert in 1865 she said she was a Spinster.
So I wondered if this Richard I had found in Slough could be her son,as he was adopted by an Isabella born Oxford, her sisters name.On freebdm I found an Ellen Selina Carr(same as mine) married to a Thomas Dell,in 1846,just 1 year before Richard James was born.
But I am wondering if he was Ellen's son, and she did marry a Dell, why was he ....Dell Carr and not Carr Dell.
thanks again.
