Came across a report of a VALLIS family living in Long Bredy in early to mid 1800's, but have been unable to verify or find any concrete evidence even as some of their forenames appear a bit 'unusual' or biblical sounding.

Salman & Henster both b abt 1798 and children, John b1833, Elias b1835 and reportedly seen in the 1851 Census with grandchildren Fanez, Emma & Savina. unfortunately I don't have a reference to this report.

As I can't find any cross-references to this VALLIS family at all so far...I was wondering if it was someone's imaginary 'friends'??

TIA - HiFly

The reference is HO 107/1858 f 553 p 33

although it would take you about 5 minutes to zap through the census return for Long Bredy. I think you'll find the surname is Vallens.
