I found this stray today in the records of St Oswald, Bidston, Wirral, Cheshire:
Marriage 3 Sep 1778, by licence, between David Burrows of the parish of Falmouth, Cornwall, mariner, bachelor, and Martha Ray of the parish of Bidston, spinster. Witnesses: Robert Ray & Thos. Wilson (the latter is a regular witness, probably church clerk). The bride & groom signed "by mark".
