'As some day it may happen that a victim must be found
I've got a little list
I've got a little list
Of society offenders who might well be underground
And who never would be missed
No, they never would be missed ...' *

My submission? The relentlessly cheerful Ned Sherrin.
Yours?

Kirsty Wark.
I don't watch much telly as it is, but I really cannot survive Newsnight when she's on.

I remember her in one of the General Election all-night programmes some years ago.
"Oh, Gawd", thought I, "oh well, I suppose I can just about tolerate her - most of it is other people."

Until she informed us that we were off to "Megavissey". :(

(Oh, hang on, she's twitching her head - must be a correction coming through the earpiece from the producer ... yes, she's going to correct that now ...)

"Mevagavissey."

I certainly wouldn't miss her!

I'll 2nd, 3rd & 4th that! |soapbox| Does anyone find him funny, except for his sychophantic guests? He is the only person on Radio 4 who I turn off as soon as possible. This weekend I had my hands full making tea & couldn't get to the off switch fast enough, so was forced to hear him make an extremely unfunny & crass "joke" about suicide bombers. |rant|

How about those footie commentators who seem able to achieve a sexual climax when someone scores a goal? At least, that's what it sounds like!

My pet hate is David Dickenson - cheap as chips fits him to a T.
Close contenders - Terry Wogan, Oprah Winfrey, Ruby Wax.

How do I know I dislike them - been forced to sit through programmes in dentists' and hospital waiting areas !

Those two really irritating BBC weather girls (I did count to ten before I decided to use that phrase).

But do you know which two I mean?

Derek Brockway, the weatherman on BBC WAles. He always seems to have a smirk in his voice when he tells us it is going to rain all over newport - I hate it when people smirk

Or how about the querulous Liz Barrrrrclay on 'You and Yoorrrrrs'? To her everything is an absolutely unbelievable disgrace.

What do we want?
Home rule for England.
When do we want it?
Now.

Oh dear - now you've got me, Haggis. I have to confess that I have never even heard of Liz Barclay or "You and Yours" let alone watched it!
Obviously I shall have to remedy this before making any judgement- one should not criticise something that one knows nothing about. Not that it stops politicians, TV commentators etc., but we don't want to end up like them, do we? :D
Is it on ITV or whatever they call the one with the adverts these days?

No, no, no, Myth. I'm sure you're not a masochist so don't do it. You'll regret it - and may even need counselling.

If you really, really must, you'll need an old fashioned wireless and have to tune the cats whisker to BBC Radio 4 round about lunchtime - a time when only terminally sad people like me are likely to be listening.

You have been warned ...

Oh dear, I shouldn't have assumed it was telly, should I?
I don't listen to the radio much either - is BBC Radio 4 the one that says "Home" on my dial or the one that says "Light"? ;)
(I assume it isn't the one that says "Third", as having "4" for "Third" would be a little illogical, but as my previous assumption that it was telly turned out to be wrong, maybe I'd better check that too ...)

I know where to find the cricket on the long wave, and that's about as far as it goes. :D

Which reminds me - add Geoff Boycott! A more miserable commentator would be hard to imagine, wouldn't matter what happened he'd still find something to moan about, very depressing, sounds like Leonard Cohen on Valium, only worth listening to if you suffer from insomnia!

I guess that means you can't stand to watch President Bush. He cant smile for peanuts. He ALWAYS has a smirk - no matter if he is supposed to be smiling or frowning. To me its a usually a sign of autism when one cannot show any appropriate emotions.

Anyway thats my vote for "he never would be missed". :D
