Welcome to the forum!
Two names I note are Nixon and Currah. Here in my Parish in St Enoder, Cornwall, we had a family of Currahs who ran a shop in the village - there may be a connection at some point, its not a common name here, but I only have very basic details on them.
Nixon - one of my friends has been researching Nixon in the North West - mostly Cheshire and the manchester area, but if you have connections in that area, I can speak to him about that if it would help.

In the meantime, good luck with your research - oh, and good first name ;)

Cheers,
Mark :)

Mark, it doesn't appear that we share any common ancestors but I did want to welcome you aboard. If you get stuck in your research or just need advice, give us a shout here on the forums. ..............Ed

Thanks to everyone who has replied to my post so far.

I know there are some currahs in the Isle of Man, but not any in Cornwall as far as I know.

I have a William Currah and Mary Nixon living in Yorkshire.

I have a Hugh McKay & Maggie Mckay and one of their Daughters is called Euphemia.

Thanks All

Mark..

Mark, I've got Crawfords that couldn't seem to make up their mind between the Glasgow and Edinburgh areas. If you're looking in either of those places, I'd love to compare notes.

Westmorland and Cumberland - Currah, Richardson, Jackson, Graham, Williamson, Nixon.

I have Grahams in Westmorland - George Graham, baptised 1806 Appleby, son of Thomas Graham of ?? and Mary, nee Lancaster of Shap - if that's any help. A word of warning though - I know very little about the Grahams - maybe you know mine ....!!!

I have just noticed how old this thread is - Aislin, we may not get a reply ....!!!

You're right Barbara. I guess I didn't look either. Oh well, it never hurts to try!
