Sinclairs of Wick.

I have discovered that my paternal grandmother Sarah Elizabeth Sinclairs mother & father were Kennedy Sinclair of the 92 Highlanders & Alice Mackay.
I think Alice was from Berwick.

Kennedy Sinclairs parents were: Alexander Sinclair & Elizabeth ? c.1765
Alice Mackay's parents were: Robert Mackay & Anne Smith .

I cannot get any further on this part of my ancestry & would appreciate any help.

I have to say that I am very excited about this part of my ancestry as I found that my paternal granny Emma was born in Langholm,Dumfries.
This was very interesting as I visited there when I was on my honeymoon after marrying John at Gretna & I never realised that I had Scottish blood .

Hi Peter,

You are a star! This info is great,& really interesting for me.Just one problem though.
I have found a Alexander Sinclair also, on Scotlands People website along with the one you have found & this is now puzzling me.
The one I have found was listed as born 22/5/1767 Wick to James Sinclair/Mary Sutherland.
However,when looking for James Sinclair/Mary Sutherlandthat throws up quite an issue
as their marriage was 7/5/1731 & I don't think that they would be having a child after 36 years of marriage!!
