Charles Swann migrated from England to NZ, not sure re dates. He met Caroline Britnell and had 10 children all born in Riwaka from 1855 - 1874. I have been told that they married around 1874 in Kaiteriteri. One of the childeren Lois stayed in NZ whilst the rest of the family moved to Aust. Lois married a Johann (John) Wendelborn. If anyone has any info on this line I would be happy. Lyn

Well this is exciting!
I have a photo portrait of Lois on my tv as she is my mother's mother's mother!

Extras!
I also have a information about Lois Swan's husband, Johann Ludwig Frederich Wendelborn

He is the son of Wilhelm Friedrich Carl Hartwig (b. 1830 d. 1876) and Wilhelmina (Minnie) Sophia Louisa Fanselow (who I think married Freidrich Ewers after she was widowed)
Wilhelm and Wilhelmina had 9 children

1. Henry Joachim John Friedrich 4.7.1854
2. Johann Ludwig Friedrich 6.3.1856
3. Dorothea (Dora) Louisa Henrietta 25.7. 1857
4. Lugwig Hans Christian 13.1.1860
5. Anna Sophia Margaretha 22.8.1862
6. Johann Heinrich William 25.2.1864
7. Caroline Maria (Mary) Sophie 20.9.1868
8. Emilie Louisa Wilhelmina 15.2.1871
9. George Johann Friederich 21.3.1874

NB: these lists are handwritten by my mother's mother from her bible and I have noticed the spelling of Friedrich is sometimes Freidrich and I am not sure if that is unintentional)

Wilhelm's parents were Ludwig David Friederich Wendelborn and Dorothea Caroline who arrived in Nelson (South Island, New Zealand) from Hamburg on "Skiold" Sept 1st 1844 with their children

Frederike Louise Henriette 20 years
Wilhelm Freiderich Carl Hartwig 14 years
Johann Christopher Hermann 11 years
Heinrich Julius Friederich 9 years
Ludwig Johann Christopher 6 years
