Can any one find Francis Povah

I am trying to find Francis Povah/ Pover, He was born in about 1825 in Wrexham, Denbighshire, he was a sawyer. He married Catherine Davies nee Arther in 1845 at St Mary's Berkenhead, i have Catherine, mum & dads names but i realy need the names of Francis parents or any information no matter how small. I realy need the help i have hit a brick wall any help would be very much appreciated.

I have had a look on the 1841 census, and the only FRANCIS i can find is FRANCIS POVEY b - 1825 in Cam, GLOUCESTERSHIRE ??????

Do you have a birth/death cert for this person? Did he have a middle name he could have gone by?

If you need any info about the above, i will supply all though it's quite a way from Wrexham. Are you sure he was born in Wrexham?

Scrap the last person that i found in Cam. That was 142 miles from WREXHAM !!! (not good on geography as you can tell!!)

I have since found this just 12 miles away WREXHAM......

Hang fire, Around. For the 1841 census, ages above 13 were rounded down. William and Francis could be anything between 15 and 19.

that's why i questioned it, i didn't realise they were rounded down in 1841.

*The ages of people over 15 years old were usually rounded down to the nearest 5 years. Therefore, someone who was actually 24 years would have their age listed as 20, and someone who was actually 27 years old would have their age listed as 25From Ancestry

I posted it also on your other POVAH thread. It is not uncommon for age given at death to be incorrect, this works out born about 1830. It seems that his parents names are not recorded on the death certificate. However, if known by the informant, his birthplace would be given, also if he married and had children.

Hi all
Thanks for the help, that could well be the Francis i am looking for in Ellesmere, the age is not that far out and with the rounded down bit .
I have a good feeling about it, and will keep you posted.
