In what capacity?

Try searching the National Register of Archives for the name of the company and see what you can find.

You might find references to management staff but you'll be very unlikely to find anything about ordinary miners. Many miners worked as labour only sub contractors and there would be little reason for the company to keep records.

If your man was the victim of an accident, you could try the The National Database of Mining Deaths.
